Fruits do a body good – inside and out

Instead of putting all of your servings of fruit inside of your body, think about putting them on the outside too.

I enjoy using natural products from time to time because 1) They don’t contain harsh chemicals that can damage your skin 2) They are cheap 3) They work. So here are some that I’ve tried to some degree of success.

Avocado: You can not only make delicious guacamole from this fruit, but a facial mask that naturally helps the skin produce more collagen. Combine a mashed avocado with a whisked egg white, 1 tsp. of apple cider vinegar, and 3 tsp. of olive oil and leave it on your face for 20 minutes to reveal fresh, glowing, moisturized skin.

Lemon: Drop the harsh hydroquinone bleaching products that can cause permanent damage to your skin and pick up a lemon. Lemons act as a natural skin bleach and skin softener. To brighten up your skin cut a lemon in half, dip it into half a teaspoon of sugar, and rub it over your face for 2 minutes before bed.

Strawberry: Strawberries are a surprising teeth whitener. The malic acid in strawberries acts as an astringent to remove surface discoloration from teeth. To make a teeth whitening mixture at home, crush strawberries, then add baking soda and blend well. Apply the mixture to your teeth and leave it on for five minutes, then brush your teeth with toothpaste. Do this once a week for a brighter smile.

Watermelon: I always wondered my grandmother rubbed her watermelon rind on her face when she was done eating what she wanted of the watermelon. The juice of this fruit is useful in fighting skin blemishes and protecting skin from the sun. To make a watermelon exfoliate, simply mash a cup of watermelon chunks and apply the paste to your face. This will give you an instant facelift and will cleanse and tighten your skin.

These are really fun to try on a girls' night.

Keep looking beautiful everyone!
