My Secret Weapon - My Fitness Pal

They say that writing down everything you eat helps you to eat better. Most weight management programs suggest that you keep a food and activity diary to keep track of your progress and reach your goals. Writing down everything you eat and every exercise you do is quite challenging, but MyFitnessPal makes it effortless. Because you’re on your phone so much every day anyway, MyFitnessPal has created an app to record your food intake and activity. You start by plugging in your height, current weight, and goal weight. Then the app recommends how many calories a day you should consume. If you are eating too few calories a day, the app prompts you to start eating more so that you don’t miss out on essential nutrients.

Logging food is made easy with a database of 927,000 foods and nutrition facts for over 450,000 foods. The database includes restaurant items as well, so there’s no need to worry about what to eat on a night out. You can also create your own recipes for items that may not be in the database. There are also many exercise options, so if you’ve only taken a 15-minute slow walk, it’ll tell you how many calories you’ve burned.

This app is available on iPhone and Android. I have the iPhone version of it, which is a free app. If you can’t get the app, you can also join the myfitnesspal.com community (also free).

MyFitnessPal is definitely a LiveBeautiful approved resource for living healthier. I can’t think of one flaw of it.  Seeing your progress day by day will definitely encourage you to stay on track with being active and eating well, and the nutritional information of foods you eat often will help you to be more knowledgeable about what you put into your body. I encourage you all to download this app or visit the website to get stated today.
Live beautiful everyone!
